MRU is proud to provide two suicide prevention workshops this fall: QPR and ASIST.

QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) is a 90 minute workshop . It supports people in learning to recognize signs of distress and builds awareness of suicide.

ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) is an interactive and practice-based two-day course which teaches participants how to provide suicide first aid interventions. Through completion of the training, participants will be able to:

    •    understand how personal and societal beliefs and values impact views on suicide

    •    provide tailored guidance and suicide first aid

    •    identify an effective safety plan and know how to implement it

    •    recognize important components of suicide prevention

If you are interested in either of these workshops, visit the MRU wellness workshops website in order to register.
